GM MESSAGE: 'TIS THE SEASON TO BE A GOOD LISTENER

There isn’t a better time than the festive season to meet with family, friends and acquaintances, and ask them what their 2015 brought them, what it didn't, and what their hopes and dreams are for 2016 and beyond! With this focus, December can be “the most wonderful time of the year” for your business as well. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with many distributors who have had huge success growing their businesses in December because they took the opportunity to listen to people.

Unfortunately, as leadership skills go, listening isn’t seen as one of the really dynamic ones. Listening is often viewed as a seemingly passive thing that could almost be misconstrued as being a weakness. Great leaders like Winston Churchill are usually notable because of the things they said and taught, not for their listening skills.

However, Churchill was renowned for his ability to sit down and listen to anyone and everyone, and his view on the importance of listening is evidenced by one quote from him: “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen."

If you scramble the letters in “listen” you can also make the words “silent” and “enlist”. So I encourage all of you to “enlist” the art of remaining “silent” in order to “listen”. Really listen to what people are looking for in life. I promise you that such an approach has the power to dramatically improve your business. Keep these points in mind as you commit to listen and finish the year strong:

It’s a business, so don’t be tempted to take a month off

Keep your business “merry and bright,” by continuing to build through December. One of the keys to success is consistency, so though it may be tempting to take extra time off for cooking, baking, shopping, and entertainment, make sure you schedule plenty of time to keep building your business. Never put your business on hold; dinner parties, nights out, school plays and Nativities are all great places to grow your contact list. Your contact list is the lifeblood of your Synergy business and you need to add name to that list every day!

Give a life-changing gift this Christmas

As receipts for gifts, food, decorations, and travel pile up, many people feel the financial pressure and stress. There couldn’t be a better time to share Synergy’s powerful financial opportunity with families who are feeling the pinch. Many people every year are putting their Christmas gifts on credit cards. You have the ability to enable them next year to be paying for things with cash! At this time of giving, what better gift can you give than helping someone find financial freedom?

Thank you for all your hard work in building your business in 2015. It truly is my privilege to be working side by side with such dedicated Team Members throughout the UK and Ireland.

I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and hope that 2016 brings you even closer to your hopes and dreams!
